Teams calls and meetings, filed to the right matter.
We read call records, recordings and transcripts from Microsoft Teams through Microsoft Graph, match them to clients and matters, and turn them into filed notes and follow-ups. All of it stays in your tenant.
Microsoft Teams & Teams Phone integration, built around your firm
For firms on Teams and Teams Phone, client calls and meetings already run through Microsoft 365. Teams knows who took part, when and for how long, and when recording or transcription is turned on, it holds the recording and transcript as well.
None of that reaches the matter on its own. Someone has to type up notes, work out which matter the call was about, file them in the document system and remember to calendar what was promised. Time spent on calls is reconstructed from memory at the end of the week, if at all. Usually some of it doesn't happen.
We use Microsoft Graph to pick up each call record, and the recording or transcript where one exists. Participants and phone numbers are matched to clients and matters by rule, and anything ambiguous goes to a short review queue instead of being guessed. The transcript is filed to the matter workspace, a summary and follow-ups are posted for review, and call details can become draft time entries. The processing happens in your firm's Azure subscription, so recordings and transcripts never leave your tenant.
The Microsoft Teams & Teams Phone data we work with
Call records
Participants, start and end times, duration and session details for each Teams call or meeting.
Meeting transcripts
The transcript of a Teams meeting, with speaker information, once transcription has finished.
Meeting recordings
The recording file for a Teams meeting where recording was turned on.
Meetings and attendance
Look up a meeting from its join link and read its attendance report.
Matter Teams and channels
Post summaries to a matter's channel through a Teams bot or a signed-in account, since Graph doesn't let an application post messages on its own.
How the Microsoft Teams & Teams Phone integration works
- Permissions your administrator approves. Call records are available only through an application permission, which needs admin consent. Transcripts and recordings have their own read permissions, and app access to them also requires a Teams application access policy, set by your Teams administrator, covering the users whose meetings the app may read.
- Recording and transcription must be on. Graph can only return a recording or transcript that Teams actually created. Whether one exists depends on your Teams meeting policies and licences, and your administrator can turn off Graph access to transcripts entirely. We review these settings with you before anything is built.
- Events, with a 30-day window. Graph sends a notification when a call record is created and when a transcript or recording becomes available. Call records can arrive some time after the call ends, may be updated later, and are kept for 30 days, so we capture them promptly and reconcile on a schedule.
- Meetings versus other calls. Transcripts and recordings are most consistently available for Teams meetings. For one-to-one and phone calls, availability depends on what Microsoft exposes through Graph and on your recording policies, so we confirm it in your tenant before promising it.
- Stays in your tenant. The code, its identity and every recording and transcript it handles stay in your Microsoft 365 / Azure environment. Any AI summary runs on a service your firm approves and is labelled for review.

Often connected with
Questions about connecting Microsoft Teams & Teams Phone
Does this start recording our calls?
No. We only read call records, and recordings or transcripts that Teams has already created under your own policies. Whether calls are recorded, and how clients are told, remain your firm's decisions.
Do we need extra Microsoft licences?
Call records need Teams calling or meetings in your tenant, and recordings and transcripts depend on the meeting policies and licences your users have. Some features can require add-on licences, so we check your current setup during the analysis rather than assume.
Is the summary written by AI?
Matching a call to a matter is done by rules. Where we use AI, for example to summarize a transcript, it runs on a service your firm approves, the output is labelled, and a person reviews it before anyone relies on it.
We use Teams for meetings but a different phone system. Can you handle both?
Yes. Teams meetings come through Microsoft Graph, and calls on systems such as RingCentral come through that vendor's own API. Both feed the same matching rules, review queue and filing.
