Practice & firm management

Keep every system in the firm working from the same MyCase cases.

We connect MyCase to your docketing, intake, document storage and Microsoft 365, so a case is opened once and its team, dates and status follow it everywhere.

Talk about your MyCase setup

MyCase integration, built around your firm

In a MyCase firm, the case record holds what everyone else needs: the client, the assigned staff and lead lawyer, the practice area, the stage and the statute of limitations date. The calendar, the docketing system, intake and the document store all depend on that record being current, and so does every report a partner runs.

When MyCase stands alone, staff re-enter cases into other systems by hand, deadlines calculated elsewhere never reach the MyCase calendar, and a staffing change in MyCase leaves the old team still receiving reminders. Closing a case in MyCase doesn't close it anywhere else, so reminders keep arriving for work that is finished. Nobody notices any of this until something is missed.

We build the connections MyCase doesn't provide on its own, using the MyCase Open API and its webhook subscriptions. The code runs in your firm's Microsoft 365 / Azure tenant, follows rules your firm approves, and routes anything uncertain to a person for review. Your firm owns the code, the logs and the documentation. If an existing MyCase integration already covers what you need, we'll tell you.

What we connect

The MyCase data we work with

Cases

Create and update cases, including case number, stage, practice area, status, statute of limitations date, assigned staff with lead and originating lawyer, and case custom fields.

People, companies and leads

Client and company records with their custom fields, and intake leads with referral sources.

Events and tasks

Create, update and delete calendar events and tasks linked to a case and assigned to case staff, so dates calculated elsewhere appear in the MyCase calendar.

Time and expenses

Create time entries, including UTBMS codes, and expenses against a case. Invoices can be read for reporting.

Documents and notes

Case and firm documents with folders and versions, plus case, client and company notes, messages and call logs.

For your IT team

How the MyCase integration works

  • Advanced tier, credentials from MyCase. MyCase offers its Open API only on the Advanced tier. Your firm asks MyCase support in writing for API credentials, giving the redirect address we provide and whether access should be read-only or read/write. MyCase issues the credentials to an administrator on your account.
  • OAuth, authorized by an administrator. The user who authorizes the connection needs MyCase's permission to manage firm preferences, billing and payment options. MyCase requires re-authorization if a connection goes unused for two weeks, so the integration refreshes its access on a schedule. Credentials are held in your Key Vault.
  • Webhooks where MyCase offers them. MyCase pushes changes to cases, people, companies, events, leads and messages. Tasks, documents, time entries and invoices have no webhooks, so those are checked on a schedule using MyCase's updated-since filter. MyCase doesn't publish its webhook signature format, so we treat each notification as a signal and re-read the record from the API before acting on it.
  • No vendor support for custom code. MyCase does not provide technical support for API work. We handle the build end to end and leave your IT team documentation of every connection and permission.
  • Runs in your tenant. The integration runs in your firm's Azure subscription under its own identity, with every change logged. Your IT team can revoke it at any time without us.

Where MyCase fits

Two-way matter sync: practice management ↔ docketing

One matter, identical in every system, without anyone keying it twice.

Signed client → matter open everywhere at once

Matter opening goes from days of handoffs to minutes, and every system starts with the same data.

Matter migrations that don't break everything around them

A migration you can verify, with your integrations still working on day one.

Questions about connecting MyCase

Do we need the MyCase Advanced tier?

Yes. MyCase makes its Open API available only on the Advanced tier, and the request for credentials has to come from your firm. We give you the exact details to send, and we check your tier during the initial analysis before you commit to anything.

Can deadlines from our docketing system appear on the MyCase calendar?

Yes. We write them as MyCase events linked to the case and assigned to the case staff, so they show up in the calendar your team already uses. When a date moves in docketing, the event is updated, and when it is removed, the event is deleted.

What happens if someone edits one of those events directly in MyCase?

MyCase sends a notification when an event changes, so the integration notices the edit. Rather than silently overwriting it, we flag it to the responsible person, because a hand-edited court date is something a person should look at.

How quickly do changes show up?

Case, contact, event and lead changes are sent by webhook as they happen, though MyCase doesn’t publish delivery times. Tasks, documents, time and invoices are checked on a schedule, typically every few minutes. A nightly reconciliation catches anything a notification missed.
