Connect Filevine projects to the rest of your firm.
We connect Filevine to your intake, docketing, phones, document management and Microsoft 365, so a new case is set up once and its dates, notes and files stay in step everywhere.
Filevine integration, built around your firm
For many litigation and personal injury firms, Filevine is where the case lives: the project, its custom sections, the team, the deadlines and the activity feed. Because every firm builds its own project types and sections, the data that matters most, such as incident dates, trial dates and treatment records, sits in fields your firm designed.
The trouble starts at the edges. A signed lead is rekeyed into a new project, a call summary never reaches the activity feed, a trial date changes in a custom section but the docketing calendar doesn't hear about it, and documents end up filed twice or not at all. Someone checks the systems against each other by hand, and that someone is usually a paralegal with better things to do.
We build the connections between Filevine and those systems with the Filevine API and its webhooks, mapped to your own project types and fields. The code runs in your firm's Microsoft 365 / Azure tenant, follows rules your firm approves, and sends anything uncertain to a person for review. Your firm owns the code and can see every change it makes. If a Filevine feature or an integration already listed in Filevine covers what you need, we'll tell you.
The Filevine data we work with
Projects
Create and update projects of the right project type, with client, phase, hashtags and project team, and archive them when a case closes.
Custom sections
Read and write the fields in your static and collection sections, addressed by the selectors your administrator set up in Filevine.
Contacts
People and companies, with phone numbers, email addresses, addresses and custom contact fields, and their roles on each project.
Deadlines and appointments
Project deadlines, deadline chains and calendar appointments. Each record we create carries our own reference ID, so a retry never creates a duplicate.
Notes and tasks
Post notes to a project's activity feed, such as reviewed call summaries, and create tasks assigned to the right person with a due date.
Documents
Upload files into project folders, add new revisions, and download documents for filing in your document management system.
How the Filevine integration works
- A service account your administrator controls. A Filevine account admin creates API credentials and a service account for the integration, then issues an access token for it. The integration can do only what that service account is permitted to do, and the credentials are held in your Key Vault. The client secret expires after a year and the token has its own expiry date, so renewals are tracked and alerted.
- API capacity, requested up front. Filevine starts new direct API credentials on a restricted default rate limit. Your admin submits Filevine's API access request form from the Account Manager before go-live, and Filevine decides whether to raise it, so we plan that step into the schedule.
- Webhooks, with a safety net. Filevine sends signed notifications when projects, contacts, sections, deadlines, notes and documents change, and we verify each signature. Notifications carry record IDs, so the integration fetches the full record, responds quickly, and also checks recent project activity on a schedule in case a notification is missed.
- Mapped to your project types. Every Filevine org has its own project types, sections and fields. We map yours with your administrator before anything is written, and read back what we write to confirm every value landed where it should.
- Runs in your tenant. The integration runs in your firm's Azure subscription under its own identity, with every change logged. Your administrator can revoke its access token in Filevine or stop the Azure resources at any time, without us.
Where Filevine fits
Signed client → matter open everywhere at once
Matter opening goes from days of handoffs to minutes, and every system starts with the same data.
Two-way matter sync: practice management ↔ docketing
One matter, identical in every system, without anyone keying it twice.
Client call → transcript in the DMS → summary, follow-ups and calendar
The call is documented, filed and on the calendar before the attorney has hung up the headset.

Questions about connecting Filevine
Filevine already lists integrations. Why would we need you?
Often you won't. If an integration already enabled through Filevine, or a Filevine feature, does what you need, use it, and we'll say so. We build where your own rules need to run across several systems at once, such as signed lead to project to document workspace to docketing, or where nothing listed does the job.
Who at our firm has to set this up?
A Filevine account admin. They create the API credentials and the service account, decide what that account can access, and issue its access token. They can revoke the token from Filevine at any time, and your firm also controls the Azure side, so the integration can be switched off from either end.
We use Lead Docket for intake. Can signed leads become Filevine projects automatically?
Lead Docket has its own Post to Filevine feature, and if that is enough we'll recommend it. Where you need more, such as a conflict check, a document workspace or docketing set up at the same time, Lead Docket webhook rules can notify the integration when a lead's status changes, if webhooks are enabled on your Lead Docket account.
Filevine has deadline chains. How does that fit with a separate docketing system?
Filevine can calculate dates from deadline chains. If you run a separate rules-based docketing system, we agree with you which one calculates deadlines for which cases, so the same case is never calendared twice, and changes to trigger dates in your custom sections reach whichever system is responsible.
